Social media image sizes are the pixel dimensions and shapes each network shows without cropping: feed posts, stories, covers, banners and thumbnails. The shapes repeat across networks, so a handful of sizes covers most of them: 1080 × 1350 (4:5) for Instagram and Facebook feed posts, 1080 × 1920 (9:16) for stories, Reels and TikTok, 1000 × 1500 (2:3) for Pinterest pins, and 1280 × 720 (16:9) for YouTube thumbnails. Covers and banners are the exceptions: each has its own wide shape and a safe area that phones crop to, so text and logos belong in the middle. These guides give each size, how it gets cropped, and post ideas that work for small product brands.

The profile grid shows posts at 3:4, so taller or wider images are trimmed on the grid even when the full post shows in the feed. Keep important details away from the edges.
