Prime Day product images, in short: leave the main image alone (pure white, no "Prime Day" text, badges or logos; Amazon adds the deal badge itself), and do the work in the secondary images, A+ content, Brand Store and off-Amazon ads. Prime Day 2026 ran June 23–26 and Prime Big Deal Days October 6–7, so finish image updates two to three weeks before each event.
More on this topic: Seasonal product photos, every guide in one place.
Prime Day is the one sale where the listing photos you already have matter more than any sale graphic. Shoppers compare dozens of discounted products in the deals pages and search, and they decide from the main image and the first few secondary images. The temptation is to add a red "Prime Day deal" burst to every photo. On Amazon that breaks the image rules, and it isn't needed: the deal badge and price are shown by Amazon. This guide covers what to change, what to leave alone, the image sizes for every placement and a countdown plan.
- Dates: Prime Day 2026 ran June 23–26 in the US; Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6–7, 2026. Amazon announces each year's dates a few weeks ahead.
- Main image: unchanged rules. Pure white, product fills about 85% of the frame, no text, badges, logos or borders.
- Where to add value: secondary images (lifestyle, infographic, size, what's in the box), A+ content and the Brand Store.
- Sale graphics belong off Amazon: social, email, your own store and ads.
- Finish early: image changes go through Amazon's checks, so don't edit on the day.
When is Prime Day, and when should you update images?
Prime Day 2026 ran from 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 23 to 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 26 in the US and 21 other countries; Prime members in Australia, Brazil, India and Japan got their event later in the summer. Amazon's autumn event, Prime Big Deal Days, ran October 6–7, 2026. Amazon hasn't announced 2027 dates yet; in 2026 it named the month in late April and the exact dates in early June.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 6 weeks before | Audit images on deal ASINs: main image, 7+ secondary images, A+ and Store |
| 4 weeks before | Shoot or generate new lifestyle and infographic images |
| 3 weeks before | Upload listing images, A+ and Store changes; check they went live |
| 2 weeks before | Build ad, social and email creative from the same images |
| Event days | Don't change listing images; watch for suppressed images |
| Week after | Remove sale messaging from social and Store; keep the stronger listing images |
Event dates from Amazon's announcements were checked in October 2026. Marketplaces change their rules, so confirm the current requirements in your seller dashboard before you upload a large batch.
Can you put "Prime Day" on Amazon product images?
No, not on the main image, and it's a bad idea on secondary images too. The main image must be the product alone on pure white with no added text, badges, logos or graphics. Badge look-alikes ("Deal", "Best Seller", anything mimicking Amazon's own badges) on secondary images get images removed and confuse shoppers, because Amazon already shows the real deal badge and price next to your listing.
| Image | Prime Day text or badge? | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Main image | No | A sharper, brighter pure-white image; product fills the frame |
| Secondary images | No badges; avoid sale wording | Lifestyle, benefits, size and what's in the box |
| A+ content | Avoid time-limited claims | Comparison chart, benefit banners |
| Brand Store | Seasonal banner is common | Swap the hero image for the event, then swap back |
| Off-Amazon ads, social, email | Yes | Your own sale graphics with dates and price |
Check every main image before the event with the free Amazon image checker, and see why Amazon main images get rejected if one is suppressed.
Which images should you improve before Prime Day?
The ones shoppers see while comparing deals: the main image first, then the first three secondary images. Deal shoppers scan fast, so each image should answer one question.
- Main image: product filling about 85% of the square, pure white, sharp at 2000×2000. A small, grey or off-white main image looks weaker next to competing deals.
- Image 2, the hero lifestyle shot: the product in use, in a scene that fits the buyer. Our Amazon lifestyle images guide covers what works.
- Image 3, benefits infographic: three to five short callouts, large type. See Amazon infographic images.
- Image 4, size and scale: dimensions or the product in a hand.
- Image 5, what's in the box: every item laid out, so the deal is clear.
- Bundles and gifts: Prime Big Deal Days falls at the start of holiday shopping, so a gift-ready lifestyle shot pays off in October.

What should Prime Day sale graphics look like off Amazon?
Simple: the product, the discount, the end date and one call to action. Prime Day is Amazon's event, so on your own channels say "Prime Day deal on Amazon" and link to the listing; don't style your graphics to look like Amazon's own branding.
- Lead with the product, large and on a clean background.
- Show the price change clearly: "Was $40, now $28" or "30% off".
- Add the end date and time zone; events end at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
- Keep text off the product and away from the top and bottom of Stories, where the app covers it.
AiArter's design templates include sale banners and ad layouts; drop in your product photo and change the text. The AI image extender turns a square product image into Story, feed and banner sizes for 8 credits per size. Our Black Friday product photos guide has more sale graphic ideas.
The June event suits summer scenes (see summer ideas); the October one is the first holiday sale, so gift and cosy scenes fit better (see holiday listing photos).
How do you make Prime Day images quickly?
- List the ASINs with deals and pull their current images.
- Fix the main images first: pure white, centered, 4 credits each in AiArter.
- Generate one lifestyle scene per product behind the real product photo, 8 credits each.
- Build infographics and size images from the same cut-out so the set looks consistent.
- Upload three weeks out, confirm every image is live, then build ads and social from the same files.
Scenes come from the AI background generator, which keeps the product pixels from your photo, so labels and colors stay true.

Should I change my main image for Prime Day?
Only to make it a better white-background image. Don't add seasonal props, text or graphics.
How early should I update images before Prime Day?
Two to three weeks before, so changes are live and checked before deal traffic arrives.
What size should Prime Day ad images be?

Do lifestyle images help on Prime Day?
