Checks follow Amazon's main-image guidelines as commonly published: pure white background, product filling about 85% of the frame, 1000 px or more for zoom, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or non-animated GIF, and under 10 MB. Some categories have their own rules, so check the style guide for yours in Seller Central. The checker can't see props, added text, logos or watermarks.

FAQ

Questions about amazon image checker

Is the Amazon image checker free?
Yes. It's free with no sign-up and no limit.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Every check runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
Which rules does it check?
Amazon's main-image guidelines as commonly published: a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling about 85% of the frame, 1000 px or more on the longest side so zoom works, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or non-animated GIF, and files under 10 MB. Some categories have their own rules, so check the style guide for your category in Seller Central.
How does it decide the background is white?
It reads the pixels in a thin ring around the edge of the photo. If at least 97% of them have red, green and blue values of 250 or more, the background passes. The small tolerance allows for JPEG compression noise.
How does it measure product fill?
It finds the box around everything that isn't near-white and measures how much of the photo's width or height the box spans, whichever is more. 80% or more passes, and a product touching the edge gets a warning. It's an estimate: a white product on white can read as smaller than it is.
What can't it check?
It can't tell whether there are props, added text, logos, watermarks or more than one product in the photo. Look for those yourself.
