Wallapop photo tips, in short: you can add up to 10 photos per listing, or up to 50 with a Wallapop PRO subscription. Use your own photos, never images from the internet, and make them clear, sharp and taken from different angles. Put the whole item in the first photo, shoot in good daylight, and photograph every defect; marks visible in your photos aren't grounds for a return.
More on this topic: Marketplace image requirements, every guide in one place.
On Wallapop, buyers browse a grid of photos from sellers near them, and either meet you or buy with shipping. Whichever they choose, they judge the item first by its photos, and if they buy with shipping, Wallapop judges any dispute against them. This guide covers Wallapop's photo limits and rules, the shots to take for each type of item, how to make phone photos look clean, and how good photos protect you when a buyer opens a dispute.
- Up to 10 photos per listing; Wallapop PRO subscribers can add up to 50.
- Your own photos only. Stock images and supplier photos aren't allowed.
- First photo: the whole item, centered, on a plain background.
- Don't reuse a photo across several listings, and don't list the same item twice.
- Show defects. Stains and marks of use visible in your photos or description are excluded from Wallapop's return policy.
How many photos can you upload on Wallapop?
Wallapop lets you add up to 10 photos per listing, taken in the app or chosen from your gallery. With a PRO subscription, the limit rises to 50 photos per item. Wallapop's help center recommends uploading several good-quality photos rather than one, so use most of your ten for anything used.
| Item | Suggested photos | Must include |
|---|---|---|
| Clothing | 5–8 | Front, back, brand and size label, fabric, any stains or pilling |
| Shoes and trainers | 7–10 | Both sides, soles, heels, size label, creasing, box |
| Mobile phones and electronics | 6–10 | Screen on, back, edges, ports, settings or model screen, accessories |
| Furniture | 6–10 | Whole piece, all sides, drawers or doors open, surface wear, measurements |
| Bikes and sports gear | 6–10 | Both sides, frame size or model, wear parts, any damage |
| Luxury and designer items | 8–10 (or more on PRO) | Logo, serial number, label, receipt or invoice, hardware |
Wallapop's photo limits and listing rules were checked in October 2026. Marketplaces change their rules, so confirm the current requirements in your seller dashboard before you upload a large batch.
What should the first photo on Wallapop be?
The first photo should show the whole item clearly, centered, against a plain background. It is the image buyers see in search results and the grid, so it has to be recognizable at a glance.
- Whole item, nothing cut off. Step back rather than zooming in.
- Plain background. A white wall, a light floor or a clean table; clear away clutter.
- Straight on and well lit. Daylight from a window, no flash.
- Only the item for sale. If something in the photo isn't included, take it out of frame.
- Check the crop. Wallapop doesn't publish a required pixel size or aspect ratio, so leave a margin around the item and check the listing preview.
What photos should you take for a Wallapop listing?
Take clear, sharp photos from different angles, plus close-ups of labels and every defect. That is what Wallapop's own selling tips ask for, and it answers most chat questions before buyers send them.
- Whole item, front: your first photo.
- Back and sides, in the same light and setup.
- Labels and model numbers: brand, size, model or serial plate, close and in focus.
- Details: fabric texture, hardware, screens, controls.
- Every defect: scratches, stains, chips or missing parts, each in its own photo.
- What's included: charger, box, manuals, accessories laid out together.
- Scale: a tape measure on furniture, or the item next to a familiar object.
- Proof for high-end items: Wallapop recommends a receipt, invoice, serial number, label or a close-up of the logo to show authenticity.

How do you take good Wallapop photos with your phone?
Use daylight from a window, a plain background, your phone's main lens and no flash. That setup covers most of what makes a Wallapop photo look trustworthy.
- Shoot by a window during the day, with ceiling lights off to avoid a yellow cast.
- Clean the item first. Wipe screens and surfaces; steam or smooth out clothing.
- Set up a background: a white wall, a sheet of white card, or a plain floor.
- Use the 1× lens and move closer instead of using digital zoom.
- Tap to focus so labels and defects are sharp, and hold the phone steady.
- Turn off filters and beauty modes; they change color and texture.
- Review every photo at small size before publishing.
Put a clean, light background behind a cluttered photo, keeping the item exactly as you shot it.

Wallapop asks you to use your own photos and not images from the internet, and its prohibited listings policy names items listed with stock images or supplier photos. Avoid:
- Stock or supplier photos, including manufacturer images of a new item.
- Internet images copied from shops or other listings.
- The same photo in several listings. Wallapop's selling tips list it as something not to do, along with publishing the same product more than once.
- Photos that don't match the item. Wallapop's return policy specifically calls out listings whose photos don't correspond to the product advertised, so never use a photo of a different unit.
- Personal details in the frame, such as mail with your address. Photos can also carry GPS location in their metadata; our free photo metadata remover saves clean copies.
How do photos protect you in a Wallapop dispute?
Your photos and description are the evidence of what you disclosed. When a buyer receives an item shipped through Wallapop, they have 48 hours after it's marked delivered to open a dispute, and Wallapop weighs the item against the listing's title, description and photos.
The policy excludes products with stains, dirt or evident marks of use that can be seen in the listing's images or description, and returns where the item matches the listing but the buyer simply doesn't want it. In other words, a defect you photographed clearly is a defect you disclosed.
Before shipping, it's worth keeping a few extra photos of the item packed and ready, so you have a record of its condition when it left you.
Common Wallapop photo mistakes
| Mistake | Why it hurts | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Using a stock or shop photo | Not allowed; doesn't show condition | Photograph the item you're selling |
| One photo only | Buyers assume you're hiding something | Use most of the 10 slots |
| Dark, blurry photos | Defects and labels can't be seen | Window daylight, tap to focus |
| Cluttered room behind the item | Item gets lost in the grid | Plain wall, card or floor |
| Defect only mentioned in chat | Harder to prove in a dispute | Photograph it and put it in the description |
| Same photo reused for similar items | Against Wallapop's selling tips | Shoot each item separately |
Refreshing a Wallapop listing that isn't selling
Edit the listing rather than posting it again: Wallapop doesn't allow the same product to be published more than once. From the edit screen you can change the photos, title and description. Retake the first photo in better light, swap the order so the clearest shot comes first, and add any angle buyers asked about in chat.
Light editing is fine: crop, straighten and brighten. Editing the item itself, such as hiding a scratch, is not. If you list from a computer, our free image compressor and converter turns iPhone HEIC files into JPGs. For a background you can't clear, the AI image editor can remove an object behind the item from a plain-words instruction, and AiArter's product photo tools can put the item on white while keeping it as you shot it. Trial images carry a small "Made with aiarter" mark, so use paid-plan exports in listings. Selling across Europe? See our Vinted photo tips, and for eBay, eBay photo requirements.
