CapCut vs Canva for Product Videos (2026): Features, AI Tools and Price

CapCut vs Canva for product videos: CapCut is the better pick for TikTok and Reels-style edits, with AI avatars and a large AI credit allowance on its paid plans. Canva is better for on-brand product ads that mix photos, text and short clips. Both have free plans. Canva Pro is US$120/year; CapCut's prices vary by country.

Full disclosure: AiArter is our product; CapCut and Canva are not. We compare the two fairly first and mention AiArter once, where it fits. Plan and feature details come from CapCut's and Canva's own pages, checked in October 2026. Prices change and differ by region, so check current pricing before you subscribe.

The short version
  • CapCut suits short-form video. Its paid Pro plan lists 1,200 AI credits a month and 1TB of storage, and its site offers AI avatar and avatar video tools.
  • Canva suits brand-consistent ads. Its video editor is free, and free users can export without a watermark when they use only free elements.
  • AI video clips: Canva's Create a Video Clip (Google's Veo 3) makes 16:9 clips up to eight seconds with sound, on paid plans only.
  • Pricing: Canva Pro is listed at US$120/year for one person. CapCut shows local prices “for reference only”, so check current pricing in your country.
  • Neither shoots your product. You still need good photos or clips of the real item.

Is CapCut good for product videos?

CapCut is built for vertical, fast-cut social video. Its pricing page lists three plans plus Teams:

  • Free: free templates and basic editing tools.
  • Pro: 1,200 AI credits a month, 1TB of storage, AI features, all premium templates and Pro editing features.
  • Ultra: 8,645 AI credits a month, 1TB, plus extra AI features.
  • Teams: 1,200 AI credits per seat, 1TB, a brand kit and Pro features for every seat.

The page shows local prices “for reference only”, says yearly plans are up to 30% off and asks you to sign in for final pricing, so check current pricing where you live. Seedance 2.5 AI video is billed per second on top.

CapCut's AI avatar page describes a free avatar creator that can turn a photo into a talking character with lip-sync, and its site lists avatar video and AI ad tools. For turning a product link into a video ad, CapCut's own guide points to Pippit, a related tool, so check which app offers that feature to you.

Is Canva good for product videos?

Canva's strength is consistency: the same fonts, colors and layouts across your product photos, ads and videos. Canva says its video editor is free for everyone, with trimming, cropping, transitions and filters, and that free users can export without a watermark if they use only free elements.

  • Pro, US$120/year for one person: background remover, 40+ AI tools and the premium library of templates, images, videos, audio and fonts.
  • Video background remover (Pro): removes a video's background without a green screen, so you can place a product demo over a new scene.
  • Create a Video Clip (paid plans): Google's Veo 3 generates a 16:9 clip of up to eight seconds with sound from a text prompt.
  • Magic Design for Video auto-edits footage and syncs music; Highlights finds a video's best moments; Enhance Voice cuts background noise.

Suits: sellers who already use Canva for listing graphics and want videos that match. If background removal is why you use Canva, our guide on removing a background in Canva walks through it.

Our verdict: if video is your main channel and it's mostly TikTok, use CapCut. If video is one part of your marketing alongside product graphics, banners and social posts, Canva keeps everything consistent in one place. Many sellers use both: Canva for the brand look, CapCut for the final short-form cut.

Can I make a product video without filming?

Yes. Both editors can build a video from still photos with motion and text. If you want a person presenting the product, AiArter (our product) makes UGC-style video ads: pick one of 8 AI creators and 17 voices, get a script written from your product details, and receive a captioned vertical video. Standard costs 6 credits per second plus a small base charge and 2 credits for captions, so a 15-second ad is about 102 credits. You can also turn a product photo into a 5-second clip for 15 credits.

It isn't a full video editor: there's no timeline, effects library or mobile app, so you'd still trim and post from CapCut or Canva. Our guide on turning a product photo into a video covers the options.

Make a 15-second vertical ad with an AI creator holding your product, with voice and captions, then finish it in CapCut or Canva.

Whatever editor you use, the product in the video should look exactly like the one you ship. AI clips that reshape a bottle or change a color lead to returns. Use real photos or footage of the product, and label AI-generated people or scenes when you post.

How to choose between CapCut and Canva

  1. List where the video runs: TikTok and Reels, or ads and your store too.
  2. Make the same 15-second video in both free plans from the same product photos.
  3. Check the export for watermarks and quality at full screen on a phone.
  4. Check brand fit: fonts, colors and logo placement across three videos.
  5. Count AI use: if you generate clips or avatars weekly, compare AI credits.
  6. Pick one main editor and keep the other for what it does best.
