Questions about circle crop image

Is the circle crop tool free?
Yes. It's free with no sign-up, no credits and no watermark.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The crop is made in your browser with the canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.
Why are the corners transparent?
A circle doesn't fill its square, so the PNG keeps the four corners see-through. The circle then sits cleanly on any background. JPG can't store transparency, so a JPG fills the corners with the color you pick.
Do I need a round photo for my Instagram profile?
No. Instagram and many other apps crop a square profile picture into a circle for you. A pre-cropped circle helps where a square would show, such as on your own website, in emails or on printed labels.
Which size should I download?
800 px suits most profile pictures and store logos. Use 1080 px when the image will be shown large or printed, and 400 px for small icons.
Can it remove the background behind a person or product?
No. It crops the photo as it is. The AI background remover can cut out the person or product first. That tool uses credits.
