For most sellers who edit on a phone, Photoroom is the better pick: native apps, AI fashion models, a Shopify integration and 1,000 exports from $7.50/month billed yearly. AiArter (from $12/month, 1,000 credits) suits sellers who work in a browser and want marketplace photo sets plus UGC-style video ads and listing copy in one place.
Disclosure: AiArter is our product, and this page compares it with a strong competitor, so read it with that in mind. We've tried to be strict about saying where Photoroom wins, and it wins in several places. Photoroom's prices and plan limits below come from its own pricing page, checked in October 2026. Prices change, so check current pricing before you buy.
- Choose Photoroom if you shoot and edit on a phone, need AI fashion models or virtual try-on, want a Shopify sync, need an API, or process thousands of images on a yearly plan.
- Choose AiArter if you work in a browser and want white, scene and channel-sized images, UGC-style video ads with AI creators, listing copy and design templates under one credit balance, billed month to month.

- Free use: Photoroom offers a free trial of its paid plans; AiArter has a 14-day trial with 200 credits and no permanent free plan.

Where does Photoroom beat AiArter?
Photoroom is the more complete product for most phone-first sellers. These are the areas where we'd point you to it without hesitation:
- Phone apps. Photoroom runs on iOS and Android as well as the web. AiArter has no native app, so if you shoot, edit and post from one device, Photoroom fits better.
- Price at volume. Pro is listed at $7.50/month billed yearly with 1,000 exports, and background removal, retouch, AI fill, expand/resize and enhancement don't use credits. If you export hundreds of images a month and are happy to pay yearly, it's very hard to beat.
- AI fashion models and virtual try-on. Photoroom can dress a mannequin or flat lay on an AI model. AiArter doesn't do this at all, so clothing sellers who want on-model shots should pick Photoroom.
- Shopify sync and API. Max and Ultra include a Shopify integration, and every paid plan comes with an API/MCP allowance. AiArter has neither.
- Teams. Photoroom lists up to 50 seats on its paid plans; AiArter's limit is 10 seats on Studio.
Where does AiArter fit better than Photoroom?
AiArter is narrower, but it covers a few jobs Photoroom doesn't, and it's billed month to month.
- UGC-style video ads. Pick one of eight AI creators and a voice, and AiArter makes a vertical video of them presenting your product, with a script and captions. A 15-second Standard ad is about 102 credits. See UGC video ads. Photoroom's Video Generator, on Max and Ultra, generates product videos rather than creator-style ads.
- Marketplace-ready white images. The white output is pure RGB 255,255,255 with the product centered at about 85% of a 2000×2000 frame, optional soft shadow, for 4 credits. The bulk background remover takes 50 photos per batch, gives one ZIP and doesn't charge for failed photos.
- Product kept as shot. For white, scene, color and resize outputs, AiArter cuts out your real product and generates only the background, so labels and colors stay as photographed.
- One balance for more jobs. Listing copy, design templates for posts and ads, brand kits, and a social scheduler on Pro (3 accounts) and Studio (10 accounts) share the same plan.
- Free browser tools. Some jobs need no account at all, such as the free marketplace image resizer and the free Amazon image checker.
Be clear about AiArter's limits too: no phone app, no public API, no AI fashion models or try-on, no permanent free plan, and the scheduler doesn't cover X/Twitter.
Upload one product photo and get a white main image, a lifestyle scene and a channel size, with your product kept as you shot it. Then compare the result with Photoroom.
Try AiArter photos7 days free · 50 credits · No credit cardWhich is cheaper, AiArter or Photoroom?
Photoroom is cheaper per image if you pay yearly and use most of your exports. AiArter can cost less up front if you'd rather not pay for a year, but check Photoroom's current monthly price on its site, as its pricing page shows the yearly rate first.
| Plan | Price | What you get | Cost per image at full use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photoroom Pro | $7.50/mo billed yearly | 1,000 exports | about 0.75 cents |
| Photoroom Max | $20.99/mo billed yearly | 3,000 exports | about 0.7 cents |
| AiArter Starter | $12/mo | 1,000 credits = 250 white or 125 scene images | 4.8 cents (white); 9.6 cents (scene) |
| AiArter Pro | $29/mo | 3,000 credits = 750 white or 375 scene images | 3.9 cents (white); 7.7 cents (scene) |
| AiArter Studio | $59/mo | 6,500 credits = 1,625 white or 812 scene images | 3.6 cents (white); 7.3 cents (scene) |
Two caveats. Photoroom's credit-heavy tools, such as AI fashion models and video, draw from a separate monthly AI credit pool, and exports apply to assets up to 2K resolution. AiArter charges only for successful results, but every output, including a background removal, uses credits. Compare on the outputs you actually make each month.
Which is better for Amazon and Etsy listings?
Both can produce a compliant white main image and lifestyle secondary images. Photoroom gives you more AI background modes and on-model shots. AiArter's white output is preset to Amazon's framing (pure white, about 85% fill, 2000×2000), and its image extender covers sizes like Etsy's 2000×1600 without stretching. For the rules themselves, see Amazon product image requirements and Etsy listing photo size.
Which is better for video ads?
It depends on the format. If you want product-focused clips and you're on Max or Ultra, Photoroom's Video Generator is included (up to 50 generations a month on Max). If you want a person on camera holding the product and talking, AiArter's UGC ads do that, and its image to video tool animates any product photo into a 5-second clip for 15 credits. Our guide to AI UGC video ads covers labeling and scripts.
Pick a clear or glass item, something with fine edges, something shiny, a white product and your best seller. Export a white main image and one lifestyle scene from each tool, then compare edges at 100% zoom and check that labels and colors weren't changed.
How to choose between AiArter and Photoroom
- Decide where you work. Phone first means Photoroom. Browser first means either.
- List the outputs you need. On-model shots, a Shopify sync or an API point to Photoroom. Creator-style video ads, listing copy and a scheduler point to AiArter.
- Count monthly volume. At hundreds of exports a month on yearly billing, Photoroom is cheaper per image.
- Check billing. Compare Photoroom's monthly price on its site with AiArter's $12, $29 and $59 monthly plans if you don't want to pay a year ahead.
- Test on your hardest products in both trials before you commit.
