FAQ

Questions about color picker from image

Is the color picker free?
Yes. It's free with no sign-up, no credits and no watermark.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The colors are read in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
How exact is the color?
The tool reads the single pixel under the picker from the full-size image, so the value matches that pixel exactly. Photos have noise and shading, so neighboring pixels often differ a little. Use the loupe to pick a spot that represents the color you want.
What is the nearest CSS color name?
Browsers know about 140 named colors, such as "tomato" or "steelblue". The tool shows the closest one and says when it's an exact match. Use the HEX code when you need the exact color.
Can I get a palette without clicking?
Yes. The free color palette generator finds the main colors of a photo for you.
How do I use the colors in my store?
Copy the HEX codes into your store theme's color settings, or copy the CSS variables into your stylesheet. You can also save them in an AiArter brand kit.
